The purpose of the UKCCU is to support Indonesia in meeting its national objectives and targets on low carbon, sustainable development (including forestry and land-use change) and on achieving a progressive global deal through international climate negotiations. In doing this, the work of the UKCCU supports the international priorities of the UK’s Carbon Plan (2011).

CIFOR

Currently, my relationship with the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) has not come to an end. As a non-profit global research agency that conducts research on the most pressing challenges of forest and landscape management around the world, CIFOR aspires to continuously communicate its research findings to intended audience and to build its reputation. Together with a CIFOR affiliate, Brian Belcher (CIFOR/Royal Roads University) and Daniel Suryadharma (former CIFOR), I am writing two academic manuscripts: (1) Evidence of Outcomes from Policy-Relevant Research: Lessons from a Series of Theory-Based Evaluations and (2) The science, research and policy nexus: The case of Sustainable Wetlands Adaptation and Mitigation Program.

My encounter with overseas development institute (ODI) was a timely and special one. As the UK's leading independent think tank on international development and humanitarian issues, ODI opens my pandora about international development, the area I have been always passionate about.  At the time when I was about completing my third (last) year of my PhD, I was offered a senior researcher position, which is fully matched with my PhD research topic on climate finance.

It is an unexpected but the most wanted journey I had with the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), a non-profit global research agency that conducts research on the most pressing challenges of forest and landscape management around the world. After graduating from PhD and ending my one year contract at ODI, I was offered a 9 month research/consultant position by a senior research associate and the Head of Research and Policy in Development (RAPID) at ODI, John Young, whom I know to be one of the nicest and organised persons to work with.
